Season 1 of ABC’s Home Economics has come to an end after seven episodes but has the series been cancelled or renewed for season 2?
The month of May traditionally sees the end of the annual TV season in the US.
As a result, it’s a time that fans dread as shows are either cancelled or renewed for more episodes.
But just what is the situation regarding ABC’s Home Economics, has the sitcom been cancelled or renewed for season 2?
Home Economics on ABC
Home Economics arrived on ABC in midseason on April 7th, 2021.
Starring Topher Grace, Caitlin McGee and Jimmy Tatro, Home Economics is inspired by the life of co-creator Michael Colton as it examines the lives of three adult siblings.
Tom is the oldest of the three siblings and is a middle-class author who can’t quite make it big. Sarah is the middle sibling and is a child therapist struggling to make ends meet while the youngest sibling, Connor, owns his own private equity firm.
Is Home Economics cancelled or renewed for season 2?
- Home Economics has been renewed for season 2.
That’s right, ABC fans will be treated to a second instalment of Home Economics and we’ll get to catch up with the show’s three siblings for more episodes.
The new season was announced on May 14th, ahead of the season 1 finale on May 19th.
According to Deadline, Home Economics delivered the best lead-in retention in adults 18-49 (100%) of any new comedy debut on any network so far this season, which made it a likely candidate for renewal.
Season 2 release date
- The release date for Home Economics season 2 has not been announced.
While it has been confirmed that Home Economics will return to ABC for season 2, the release date for the second instalment has not been revealed just yet.
