According to The Scottish Sun, Aberdeen are ‘poised’ to wrap up the signing of Livingston attacker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas.

Scott Brown is arriving from Celtic as a player-coach whilst Scotland international Declan Gallagher is joining from Motherwell.

New boss Stephen Glass now wants more firepower going forward, and Emmanuel-Thomas looks set for a move to Pittodrie.

The 30-year-old signed for Livingston in September 2020, penning a one-year deal with the option of a second year.

Emmanuel-Thomas has racked up nine goals in 31 appearances for Livi, and his spell has worked wonders for him in terms of landing him a bigger move.

The former Arsenal talent was in the footballing wilderness after a spell with PTT Rayong in Thailand, but his move to Aberdeen is a great step forward.

He’s taken well to Scottish football, and Aberdeen will now be hoping that he can join forces with Brown to take the club forward next season.

Arsene Wenger was a huge fan of Emmanuel-Thomas at Arsenal, branding him a ‘massive talent’ and an ‘unbelievable finisher’ whilst suggesting that he had big potential.

Emmanuel-Thomas failed to live up to that billing, but he will now hope to show Aberdeen what he’s all about.
