Arsenal have made a bid for Sander Berge, with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur also interested, according to Jeunes Footeux.

It has been reported that Arsenal have made a bid of slightly less than €20 million (£17.22 million) for the Sheffield United midfielder.

That will not be enough, as the Blades, who will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League, are looking for €30 million (£25.83 million), according to the report.

It has been claimed that Berge’s former club Genk will get between 10% and 20% of the transfer fee, and that Tottenham and Liverpool are also interested in the 23-year-old midfielder.

The Norway international has had a torrid time with injuries this season, but when the 23-year-old has played for the Blades, he has looked good.

Former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey described the youngster on HITC Sport in March as “very technical” who “gets into certain areas and creates havoc”.

Berge has made 13 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League this season, and made 12 starts and two substitute appearances in the league during the second half of the 2019-20 campaign.

With the Blades having been relegated to the Championship, it is hard to see the Yorkshire club keep hold of Berge.

However, it seems that Arsenal will have increase their offer for the youngster.

Moreover, the Gunners are also likely to face Liverpool and Tottenham.

Perhaps the Reds and/or Spurs will make an offer for the Norwegian once they know about whether they will play in Europe or not.
