Arsenal and Barcelona are among the clubs interested in signing Ismael Doukoure in the summer transfer window, according to FootMercato.

It has been reported that Doukoure’s club, Valenciennes, value him at €6 million (£5.17 million).

Juventus and AS Roma are also among the clubs who are reported to be keen on the 17-year-old.

The report in the French news outlet has claimed that the 17-year-old is the future Dayot Upamecano.

Which Premier League Club Has Had The Most Managers EVER?

Upamecano, 22, is one of the most talented and most highly-rated young defenders in Europe who will leave RB Leipzig for Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.

The France international is a very good ball-playing centre-back who is not afraid to put a challenge in and is a rock at the back.

Doukoure is only 17 years of age and has made only a handful of appearances for Valenciennes, but comparisons with Upamecano are very encouraging indeed.

The teenage defender has made 11 starts and eight substitute appearances in Ligue 2 this season.

The report in FootMercato has also underlined just how ambitious Doukoure is.

The French teenager is reported to have his own personal team with a physical trainer, a nutritionist and a press officer.

While Doukoure certainly appears to be a future star, one has to question whether Arsenal actually need another centre-back, especially one who is only 17.

True, David Luiz is reportedly leaving, but Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will have William Saliba at his disposal when the French defender returns from his loan spell.
