Arsenal are set to lose David Luiz this summer – and it looks like another veteran is following him out of the club.
Sky Sports claim that Luiz will be leaving Arsenal when his contract expires at the end of the season, with an ‘amicable’ meeting held over the decision.
Now, Fabrizio Romano reports that Willian is expected to leave Arsenal too, following Luiz out of the Emirates Stadium.
European clubs allegedly want to sign Willian, whilst there is also interest from the United States after Inter Miami pursued him last summer.
Willian only signed for Arsenal last summer, leaving London rivals Chelsea and signing a huge £220,000-a-week contract.
That seemed a little ill-advised at the time as Willian is in his 30’s and hardly going to have much resale value, but Edu struck the deal anyway.

The Brazilian has offered very little in an Arsenal shirt, managing just one goal for the Gunners – and that came in last week’s win over West Brom.
If Arsenal can offload Willian and get his wages off the books, fans should surely be delighted, as he simply hasn’t offered nearly enough this season even if Mikel Arteta branded him a game changer in February.
That he’s now considered to be ‘expected’ to go is quite the turnaround, but maybe Arsenal realise their mistake and acknowledge that they need to go for younger players.
