According to Foot Mercato, Paris Saint-Germain have drawn up a four-year contract for Tottenham Hotspur defender Serge Aurier.

It’s claimed that PSG are moving forward with their plans to re-sign Aurier just four years since selling him to Spurs for £23million.

Aurier is now approaching the final year of his deal, and Spurs are willing to sell for just under €12million (£10million) – a £13million loss.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is believed to be a huge fan of Aurier, and the pair have spoken constantly since the right back’s 2017 move to Tottenham.

Spurs don’t seem too fussed about keeping Aurier, and PSG are hot favourites to sign him having drawn up a contract worth €7million-a-year over four years.

That’s around £115,000-a-week, which is a huge £45,000-a-week pay rise for the defender if Spotrac’s claims on Aurier’s current deal are correct.

There is surely no way Tottenham would match that kind of offer, as Aurier hasn’t always impressed at right back, with his defensive lapses proving frustrating for a long time now.

The move would see Aurier reunite with ex-Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, which is interesting as he didn’t seem all that keen on him at Spurs in 2019.

The wheels are in motion now though, and Aurier could remarkably land himself a huge pay rise with a move to a Champions League semi-finalist – something few fans would have predicted.
