Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are interested in signing Abdul Mumin from Vitoria in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.
It has been reported that the 22-year-old central defender would cost £15 million.
Tottenham, Villa and Newcastle all have shown an interest in the youngster, according to the report.
“He is quick, dominant in the air and has impressed technically for the Guimaraes-based club in northern Portugal,” states the report in The Sun about Mumin.
Tottenham have had defensive issues this season.
Jose Mourinho, who was sacked as the Tottenham head coach last month and will take charge of AS Roma at the end of the season, simply could not settle on a permanent central defensive pairing.
Toby Alderweireld is 32 years of age now, while Davinson Sanchez has not always been great.
Joe Rodon is still a work in progress, while Eric Dier has made mistakes from time to time this season.
The Sun‘s report about Mumin seems to rate him highly.
Being quick and technically gifted is something that would help the Ghanian settle in well at Spurs, and the reported transfer fee of £15 million needed to sign him is not huge and certainly affordable by Spurs.
However, reported interest from Villa and Newcastle could complicate matters for Spurs.
The Villans and the Magpies could convince the 22-year-old defender that they would be able to give him more first-team opportunities than Spurs.
