Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on Jadon Sancho’s future, namedropping Liverpool in the conversation.

We’ve known for some time that Liverpool have been admirers of Sancho, but after Romano’s update, we know so much more about the situation.

Indeed, the journalist gave updates on how much the player will cost, how the player feels and what Liverpool will have to do in order to sign Sancho this summer.

“We are receiving a lot of questions, so I want to say thank you because we are getting bombarded with questions about Jadon Sancho,” Romano said.

“So, to explain the situation, one year ago there was Manchester United pushing and pushing and they were one step away from signing Sancho. The player was a bit disappointed because he wanted to join United and the deal collapsed after three months of negotiations.

“What I’ve been told is that he has no problem with his agents, but he just wants to move to a top English club. That is the desire of Jadon Sancho. That’s why Dortmund say that if an important bid arrives this summer they’ll be ready to sell Jadon Sancho. What bid is an important bid? It means around 85 to 90 million Euros, so that price is very different to that €120m one year ago.

“At the moment there are no bids yet, but Dortmund expect somebody to move in the next weeks, because if they want to sign Sancho they can’t arrive in the last week of August, because Dortmund won’t sell a player in the last week of August.

“Talking about clubs, I’ve been told that Liverpool have an interest in Jadon Sancho if they sell some expensive players or some attacking players, so let’s see what happens in the summer.”

This is incredibly interesting.

So, Sancho is open to a move to England, Dortmund will sell him for around €90m, and Liverpool need to sell a big player before making the move.

We’ve previously heard that Liverpool would need to sell Mohamed Salah before making a move for Sancho, but Romano’s update seems to suggest that any of Liverpool’s big stars could be sacrificed for a move for Sancho.

Whether or not this deal comes to fruition remains to be seen, but it seems as though Sancho could be on the move this summer.
