Leicester City will be getting a natural-born “goalscorer” if Odsonne Edouard completes his highly anticipated move from Celtic to the Premier League this summer, Trevor Sinclair has told talkSPORT (12 May, 12.30pm).

After four years learning his trade in the esteemed Glasgow finishing school, Edouard will soon graduate with flying colours.

And Brendan Rodgers is ready to welcome his former Parkhead student to the King Power Stadium with open arms.

According to The Telegraph, Leicester are confident they’re about to win the race for Edouard’s signature, with Celtic expected to demand a knock-down £20 million fee as the France U21 international becomes a free agent in 2022.

“He’s a goalscorer,” former England international Sinclair says when asked about the prospect of Edouard joining a Champions League-chasing Foxes side.

“His link-up play is very good. What he did at Celtic was superb and he was regarded as one of the players you can imagine going down to the Premier League and being very successful.”

It’s no secret that, after missing out on the chance to prove himself among Europe’s elite in 2020/21, Edouard is desperate to play Champions League football as soon as possible.

And Leicester could offer him the opportunity to do just that.

A 2-1 win over a much-changed Manchester United side last night means Leicester only need four points from their final two matches to seal a top-four berth.
