According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal and Aston Villa have joined Everton in the race to sign Fulham midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.

The Mirror reported over the weekend that Everton want to sign Zambo Anguissa with Carlo Ancelotti desperate for midfield additions this summer.

Everton fans are pretty buzzing about that rumour, but they now face a pretty daunting battle to bring him over to Goodison Park.

It’s suggested that Arsenal are considering a move for Anguissa, believing that he could partner Thomas Partey in Mikel Arteta’s midfield.

Aston Villa are also keen, though Fulham are seeking around £20million for the Cameroonian as they prepare to sell following their relegation back to the Championship.

Anguissa has impressed this season, racking up 89 successful dribbles; only Adama Traore has more in the Premier League this term.

That statistic puts him well ahead of Tottenham’s Tanguy Ndombele, and the only Arsenal player with more than 40 this season is Bukayo Saka.

That kind of ability could make Anguissa a fine partner for Thomas Partey, and at 25, the player once branded ‘world class’ by Tony Khan still has untapped potential.

Aston Villa pose a threat, as do Everton, but Arsenal may now hope to win the race for Anguissa and add a new dynamic midfielder to Arteta’s side.
