Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta welcomed a number of academy players into his senior training session on Tuesday.

The Gunners are gearing up for a trip to in-form Chelsea on Wednesday and the Arsenal boss hosted a mix of young and established stars at London Colney yesterday.

And a couple of the Hale End players stood out.

Among the academy prospects was left-back Tolaji Bola who looked one hell of a physical specimen as the club’s photographer captured him in a couple of shots beside Cedric Soares.

Another interesting youth player spotted in Arteta’s session was Salah Eddine.

Arsenal signed him as a 17-year-old on a free transfer last August following a stint with Feyenoord.

Here’s some photos of the young Dutchman in Arteta’s training:

Salah-Eddine was never expected to be a senior player this early but it’ll be interesting to see what the club’s plan for the 18-year-old is next season.

Yes, he’s only 18 but remember, he’s the same age as Gabriel Martinelli was when the Brazilian started making waves in the senior outfit.

And although he was arguably the exception, it does give the likes of Salah-Eddine something to aim for nonetheless.
