Award-winning youngster Ethan Kachosa has left Leeds United and joined League One giants Sunderland, as reported by the Herald.

As recently as 2019, the highly-rated full-back was named Leeds’ Academy Player’s Player of the Year.

Just two years later, however, Kachosa was packing his bags and leaving Thorp Arch behind, swapping West Yorkshire for Wearside.

In fact, the teenager has already opened his account for his new club, despite only sealing the deal a few days ago.

Sunderland defeated Everton’s U18 side 4-3 earlier this week and to suggest that Kachosa made an impact on his first appearance in red and white would be an understatement.

The jet-heeled wideman not only earned a penalty, he also scored the deciding effort in a topsy-turvy seven-goal thriller.

“Sunderland signed him on professional contract,” his father, Henry, told the Herald.

Kachosa has now confirmed the move himself, posting a video of his midweek exploits on Twitter.

Interestingly, the Zimbabwean starlet netted his first Sunderland goal after ghosting in from the right-hand side, despite having made a name for himself as a rampaging left-back during his time at Leeds.

And it seems that the Sunderland supporters are already welcoming Kachosa with open arms. We did say he had made a good first impression.
