According to The Athletic, Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford signed a one-year contract extension last summer, but Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are interested in him.
The report from well-known and well-respected journalist David Ornstein in The Athletic this morning has claimed that Bamford is actually tied to Leeds until June 2023 due to the extension he signed last summer.
The report has added that Liverpool are among several clubs who admire the former Chelsea and Nottingham Forest striker.
Liverpool manager Klopp has been quoted as saying in the report that he thinks that Bamford is “an exceptional player”.
Bamford is having a wonderful season at Leeds and is a key figure in head coach Marcelo Bielsa’s team.
The 27-year-old has scored 15 goals and provided seven assists in 35 Premier League matches this season.
The Englishman works hard for the team, links up well with his fellow attacking players, and is simply superb.

There is no surprise that Liverpool reportedly admire the 27-year-old.
Bamford would fit in well with the high-pressing football that the Reds play.
However, the striker is enjoying himself at Leeds, and the Whites themselves may not been keen on selling him as he is such an important player in Bielsa’s team.
It must be encouraging for Bamford that clubs such as Liverpool like the way he is playing.
The striker could not make an impact when he was at Chelsea, but he has flourished at Leeds and is showing this season that he can succeed in the Premier League.
