Burnley are interested in signing Stoke City defender Harry Souttar as well as Portadown duo Lee Bonis and George Tipton, according to reports.

With the Clarets securing yet another season of Premier League football after a gruelling campaign at Turf Moor, attention will now turn to the transfer market and players who could potentially take Sean Dyche’s side to the next level.

Bonis and Tipton, however, feel like two for the future rather than a duo capable of making an immediate and transformative impact in Lancashire.

Aged 21 and 18 respectively, the Portadown pair are promising youngsters rather than established stars.

Bonis is perhaps the most likely of the two to force his way into Dyche’s plans, though, after scoring 12 times in 33 games this season.

The Sun (9 May, page 59) reports that Bonis is very interested in sealing a move to Burnley and ‘would jump at the chance’ should one present itself.

Souttar, at 22, is just a few months older than Bonis, but the Stoke City centre-back would arrive at Turf Moor with plenty of English football experience under his belt.

The Aberdeen-born Australian has made a real impression in the Championship this season, impressing at the heart of Michael O’Neill’s backline alongside Nathan Collins – another Burnley target.

LancsLive report that Burnley are planning a bid for the 6ft 6ins Souttar, with the giant defender lined up as a potential replacement for contract-rebel James Tarkowski at Turf Moor.
