Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is taking personal interest in Yves Bissouma, according a report from well-known and well-respected journalist Duncan Castles in The Times.

The defending Premier League champions have already enquired about the Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder, who will be sold at £30 million.

Liverpool manager Klopp is looking to sign a midfielder to replace Georginio Wijnaldum, who is out of contract at the end of the season, and has reportedly identified the Mali international as a potential target this summer.

Castles has claimed that Liverpool manager Klopp has ‘spent time personally researching Bissouma’s character and off-field behaviour in order to assess whether the player would be a good fit for his Anfield squad’.

Bissouma may be playing for a Brighton side who have been fighting relegation for much of the season, but one should not doubt his quality and calibre.

The 24-year-old is a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the park who can drive forward, score goals, and pick his teammates with wonderful passes.

The Mali international has made 31 starts and one substitute appearance in the league this season, scoring one goal in the process.

Bissouma has impressed Arsenal legend Ian Wright among others, and for £30 million, he would be a very good signing for Liverpool, not just for now, but in the long run as well.
