According to ESPN, Richard Garlick will begin his role as Arsenal’s new director of football operations this month and will be involved in talks with Alexandre Lacazette and Emile Smith Rowe over new contracts.
It has been reported that Garlick will take up his role at Arsenal on May 17 and will be involved in talks to hand striker Lacazette and attacking midfielder Smith Rowe new deals.
As reported by ESPN, Arsenal announced the appointment of Garlick in January.
New contracts for Alexandre Lacazette and Emile Smith Rowe?
Lacazette and Smith Rowe are two of the most important players for Arsenal, and it is imperative that the Gunners sort out their futures.
The France international striker will have one more year left on his current deal after the end of the season.
The 29-year-old has stepped up his game big time this season, scoring goals and playing well for Mikel Arteta’s side.

The former Lyon star has scored 13 goals and provided two assists in the league this season.
As for Smith Rowe, the English attacking midfielder has taken over Mesut Ozil as the creator-in-chief for Arsenal.
The 20-year-old is the future of Arsenal, and there will always be concern that a bigger club could prise him away, especially if the Gunners are unable to compete for top honours, so a new improved contract would add more security.
