Leicester City are the only club to have made a bid for Germany international Robin Gosens, although Atalanta have no intention of accepting their £23 million bid, as reported by FC Inter News.

Eight months ago, Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes raided La Dea to bring Timothy Castagne to the King Power Stadium.

Perhaps encouraged by the way the buccaneering Belgian has adapted to life in the Premier League, Leicester have returned to a familiar hunting ground for another attack-minded full-back.

And if you thought Castagne was a threat in the final third, Gosens is on another level.

In 39 games this season, the four-cap German has produced 11 goals and eight assists – a tally that would make Trent Alexander-Arnold look like Tony Hibbert.

According to reports coming out of Italy, Atalanta are demanding £35 million for arguably the most effective attacking full-back in European football.

Leicester have offered £23 million – a bid that falls well short of Atalanta’s asking price. So far, however, that’s the only offer on the table for Gosens, with Juventus and Inter Milan yet to turn their interest into anything more concrete.

A fortnight ago, Tuttomercatoweb claimed Gosens would be interested in a move to the Midlands, although he wanted to wait to see if Leicester sealed Champions League qualification before making a decision.

Sitting five points clear of fifth-place West Ham United with four games remaining, Leicester are perfectly placed to do just that.
