According to The Sun, Chelsea are now in the race to sign Brentford striker Ivan Toney – but they want a huge £35milion fee.
It’s claimed that Toney is on the Blues’ list of potential striker targets, though he isn’t a priority for them just yet.
West Ham are very keen on Toney, but whether or not they can meet the £35million asking price remains to be seen.
The Athletic add that Everton and Leicester City are both planning to make bids for Toney at the end of the season.
Much will depend on Brentford’s promotion fate; they are in the Championship play-offs and may not want to sell if they go up.
Toney, 25, has been in blistering form since joining from Peterborough United last summer, smashing 30 goals in 44 Championship games.

That means Brentford are now looking for a £30million profit having paid £5million for him less than a year ago.
Brentford set a precedent last summer by demanding a similar fee for Ollie Watkins, and we will now see whether anybody wants to cough up the cash.
