According to Paris Fans, Arsenal have made a bid for Paris Saint-Germain defender Thilo Kehrer, although it seems a bit low.

The French news outlet claim that Mikel Arteta’s side have submitted a €9 million (£7.8 million) bid for the 24-year-old.

Considering PSG signed him from Schalke 04 for €37 million (£32 million) in 2018, it feels like Arsenal might be undervaluing him slightly.

Nevertheless, it seems Arsenal do have a chance of signing the 9-cap Germany international.

Paris Fans claim that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are happy to sell Kehrer this summer, as he is ‘undeniably struggling’ at the Parc des Princes.

It is mentioned in the report that PSG would like €25 million (£21.6 million) for their No.4, although he is happy in the French capital.

Paris Fans state that the German is in no hurry to leave PSG, although a departure is very likely.

So, what type of player is the Tübingen-born colossus?

Well, after signing him in 2018, Thomas Tuchel raved about his new arrival.

Now in charge of Chelsea, Tuchel said that Kehrer is a player who ‘every coach would like to have’ – high praise indeed.

The Bundesliga’s official website quote the former Borussia Dortmund boss as saying: “He’s fast, able to play in all four positions in defence, he’s two-footed and can even play defensive midfield…he’s a player every coach would like to have!”

In our view, Arsenal don’t need another centre-back.

Arteta will have William Saliba back at the Emirates Stadium in pre-season, and it is imperative that the Spaniard gels the Frenchman into his side.

Why? Well, Arsenal spent £27 million on him, and so far, he’s yet to make a single competitive appearance for the Gunners.

Forget Kehrer – Arteta must put his faith in Saliba.
