Arsenal have been linked with Lens central defender Loic Bade ahead of the summer transfer window, in Calcio Mercato.

Bade has enjoyed an impressive season in France and with Arsenal looking at defensive recruits he has apparently emerged on their radar.

Arsenal have bought from Ligue 1 recently on multiple occasions, although only with limited success.

The mind will almost immediately go back to William Saliba after the latest links, and there may be some reticence from Arsenal fans to see another young, central defender who is impressing in France join.

Saliba had a similar season in Ligue 1, but was quickly cast aside by Mikel Arteta this term.

That being said, there are claims that Arsenal are convinced by Bade now emerging.

Intriguingly Bade has hinted that an exit could appeal to him this summer, as he told L’Equipe that ‘anything could happen this summer’ back in March.

Bade is renowned for being very aggressive and aerially dominant at 6ft 3inches and he could be another exciting youngster to add to Arsenal’s squad.

However, his inexperience could stand against him – as his signing would clearly be a risk, given his lack of knowhow at the very top level.
