Liverpool may have some concerns over the future of Mohamed Salah given that his contract expires in two years.
The Egyptian is bound to attract interest as he nears the end of his deal, but Liverpool do have another left-footed, right-sided winger to call on.
Harvey Elliott has been tipped for a huge future for years now, having emerged as a hot young prospect with Fulham.
Elliott joined Liverpool in the summer of 2019, and has spent this season out on loan at Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.
The 18-year-old has hit six goals and 11 assists in 40 Championship games, regularly showing his skill, outstanding technique and creativity.
Liverpool have high hopes for Elliott, and he may well be the natural heir to Salah down the right flank, even if that may be a few years away – or so we may think.
Elliott has now told the Counter Attack podcast that he is going back to Liverpool summer thinking that he will be starting games for the Reds next season.
Elliott admitted that he feels ready to play regular first-team football for Liverpool having got plenty of football under his belt at a young age.

The teenager added that he is ‘100% confident’ that he can make an impact for Jurgen Klopp next term, showing great confidence by adding that he is a ‘different player’.
“Next season I am going to go back thinking that I can get in the team,” said Elliott. “I have had this experience and feel ready. I have 50 appearances under my belt, which is a lot for a teenager.”
“I feel 100 per cent confident I can go in and challenge. I’m looking forward to the fight and to show people I am a different player, and ready to play when called upon,” he added.
Elliott is backing himself for a big campaign at Anfield, whether that’s with or without Salah – and it’s hard not to be excited about his future with the Reds.
