Following the release of Part 1 in December 2020, Part 2 of Selena: The Series is now on Netflix.

The new instalment sees Selena Quintanilla embrace fame like never before as she earns breakthrough success with her newest album and in episode 6 we see Selena meet a young fan who just happens to be Beyoncé Knowles.

Part 2 of Selena: The Series on Netflix

Part 2 of Selena: The Series arrived on Netflix on May 4th, 2021, just a few months after Part 1 aired in December.

After Part 1 saw Selena Quintanilla work her way from aspiring singer to burgeoning star, Part 2 sees the much-loved Tejano singer embrace fame like never before.

However, stardom isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be and after her breakthrough English album release, Selena’s world comes tumbling down around her.


Did Selena meet Beyoncé?

In an interview with MTV tr3s in 2007, Beyoncé explained how she met Selena Quintanilla at The Galleria mall in Houston, Texas.

Beyoncé, who has become an arguably bigger star than Selena in the years since, explained: “I didn’t say much to Selena because I wasn’t a celebrity and I just saw her and said ‘hello’ and kept it moving.

“Growing up in Texas, I heard her on the radio. I think she is a legend and I admire her. And she was so talented.

“So I’m very happy that [I met her] even though she didn’t know who I was. I’m still excited that I got that opportunity.”

As well as appearing in Selena, Giovanna has appeared in a host of short films including The Lottery Game and A Strange Calm and she’s also been in one episode of The Disney Channel’s Just Roll with It.
