Leeds United fans were mightly impressed with Gareth Bale’s performance for Tottenham on Sunday as they put four past relegated Sheffield United.

From one Yorkshire side to another, now Spurs will prepare to take on Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds, who have had a far better campaign than their neighbours.

And whilst Bale has been stop-start at Tottenham this season, he has prepared for the trip to Leeds with a quality hat-trick from the weekend – his first in English football since 2012.

There were a number of well-taken goals by the left-footed Welshman that impressed the Leeds faithful, who will be hoping to nullify his threat, as well as Harry Kane’s and Heung-Min Son’s on Saturday.

Bale is on loan at Spurs and is due to return to Real Madrid in the summer, but if he can end the season well then it will be interesting to see if he is donning their colours once more next season.

Helping Ryan Mason secure Champions League football will only increase those chances, but a pretty tricky Leeds side stand in their way this week.

Leeds’ performances against both Manchester clubs and Liverpool during recent weeks is proof that they shouldn’t be messed with.

And whilst the Whites sit in the bottom half of the table, they have produced performances this term that a top-six team would be proud of.

Nonetheless, here is a selection of Leeds fans reacting to Bale’s performance ahead of the weekend’s game:
