Pep Guardiola has hailed the ‘special’ qualities of reported Tottenham and Leeds target, Sergio Aguero, after his goal for Manchester City at the weekend.

The Man City boss told BBC Sport that he is ‘completely in love’ with the striker, who is set to leave the Etihad this season on a free transfer.

The Daily Star have claimed that Spurs are interested in signing the Premier League legend, whilst EuroSport claim that there’s a real possibility he could be heading to Leeds this summer.

But on Saturday, during Man City’s win against Crystal Palace, Aguero latched onto a low cross from Benjamin Mendy and within two touches, he rifled the ball into the back of the net.

And understandably, his manager was loving what Aguero produced despite having such limited time on the field this season.

“How many times has he done it,” asked Guardiola. “What a goal and what a player and what a man.

“I am completely in love with him, as a man especially. So, other players with less quality and less legends behave a completely different way than he behaves in this period.

“The people cannot believe it but we miss him. It’s more than one year injured and we cannot use him many times – he has a special quality upfront.”

If Aguero wishes to stay in the Premier League once he leaves Man City then whoever purchases him will have a seriously good player on their hands.

Even if he is ageing and has injury problems, the deadly nature of his game could prove to be the difference for the likes of Spurs and Leeds.

Given that Aguero’s fellow countryman is on the touchline at Elland Road then that would be some partnership, and given that Leeds want to get back into Europe, then a signing such as his would take them much closer or get them to that mark.
