Gareth Bale has joked on Sky Sports Premier League (9:16pm, May 2, 2021) about his Tottenham Hotspur teammate Serge Aurier.
Tottenham have got the better of Sheffield United 4-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League this evening.
Bale, signed on loan from Real Madrid in the summer of 2020, scored a hat-trick to keep alive the North London club’s chances of finishing in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
Right-back Aurier provided two of the assists for the Wales international’s goals.
Bale has joked that he told the Ivory Coast international right-back that had he provided three assists, then he would have let him have the match ball.
The Welshman said about Aurier on Sky Sports Premier League (9:16pm, May 2, 2021): “Yeah, I know. I know. He is over there. He keeps going on about it. I said if you had three assists, you could have had the ball.”

Brilliant performance
United have already been relegated and have been the worst team in the Premier League this season, and the win for Spurs was not really a surprise.
However, it must be very encouraging for Tottenham fans to see Bale score a hat-trick, Aurier bag two assists, and the team play some wonderful football.
Bale has not had the best of seasons and has struggled to play regularly in the first team, but he looked sharp and took his goals really well against the Blades.
Ryan Mason was appointed as the interim-manager of Tottenham just days before the Carabao Cup final following the sacking of Jose Mourinho, and the impact he has already made on the team and the confidence he has given to the players is there for everyone to see.
