According to The Athletic, Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce wants to keep Arsenal-owned Joe Willock at the club next season as well.
It has been reported that Bruce has encouraged Newcastle managing director Lee Charnley to make enquiries about keeping Willock at St. James’ Park.
The 21-year-old midfielder joined the Magpies on loan from Arsenal in the January transfer window and is scheduled to return to his parent club at the end of the season.
The report has claimed that Arsenal are yet to determine what to do regarding the future of the youngster.
Back on loan at Newcastle United?
Willock has been superb for Newcastle during his loan spell so far and has popped up with important goals.
According to WhoScored, the English youngster has made seven starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Magpies this season, scoring four goals in the process.
The youngster seems to be enjoying his football at St. James’ Park and is getting a decent amount of playing time.
It would make sense for Willock to continue his development at Newcastle, as there would be a lot of competition in midfield at Arsenal.
