Harry Wilson has heavily suggested that he may be open to quitting Liverpool for good this summer.

The Wales-born attacker turned 24 in March but Wilson is yet to even make a Premier League appearance for Liverpool.

He came through the club’s Kirkby academy but his stint with Cardiff City is the fifth time that the Anfield club have loaned him out.

Wilson netted seven Premier League goals for relegated Bournemouth last season, illustrating that he’s certainly good enough for the top flight.

But being good enough for Liverpool is another question entirely and the player himself has conceded that it might be time to quit the Reds.

He said to Sgorio: “I feel my senior career has been elsewhere so far. 150-200 appearances deep now and only a couple have been at Liverpool. The club will always be close to my heart, but if it means moving away to further my career then so be it.”

Is Wilson right to leave? Absolutely, yes.

He will know himself that there’s no future for him as a Liverpool player and with two years left on his contract, Michael Edwards and Jurgen Klopp could still get a tidy bit of money for him.

After all, Klopp labelled the player ‘world class’ as far as shooting ability goes, telling Goal in 2019: “His shooting is world-class. Find me five players who shoot better than him. That is obvious, but the game is about more and that is what he has to improve and that is clear.”

The problem for Klopp is that although he clearly rates the former Cherries loanee, we’re talking about Liverpool.

We’re talking about Sadio Mane or Mo Salah that Wilson would have to be better than to play regularly under the German manager and there’s just no way he is at that level.
