Yannick Bolasie is starting to perform exactly like you’d expect a £28 million winger to perform in the Championship.
Middlesbrough’s Everton loanee took his time to get going but, right now, there aren’t many better players in England’s second tier.
In his past nine games, Bolasie has three goals and four assists to his name. Who knows, if the one-time Crystal Palace favourite had arrived last summer rather than during the final few days of the January transfer window, perhaps Neil Warnock would have ended the season with another promotion on his CV.
That’s not to say Bolasie won’t still be strutting his stuff in blood red next season too. Hopefully in front of a sold-out Riverside crowd.

The DR Congo international will be a free agent in July. And, after five difficult years hampered by injuries and a series of loan spells, Bolasie could do worse than stick around for the long haul at Middlesbrough.
As he showed on Saturday during a mesmerising performance in the 3-1 triumph over Sheffield Wednesday, a fully fit and in-form Bolasie is capable of making the Championship look like a stroll in the park.
Here’s what some Middlesbrough fans had to say on Twitter about Bolasie:
