The second season of Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous premiered on Netflix in January, but when will the series return for season 3?

Netflix continues to add amazing content to its vast library of original animated content with the second season of Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous.

The animated series is taking both the prehistoric and modern world by storm, but will Netflix renew Camp Cretaceous for season 3?

Will there be a season 3 of Camp Cretaceous?

Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous will not go extinct just yet, with confirmation that the series has been officially renewed for season 3!

The announcement that JWCC would return for a third season was made in early March, but not many of us were surprised by this news.

Not only did season 2 conclude on a major cliff-hanger, but Executive producer Colin Trevorrow had already hinted at the possibility of season 3 in an interview with EW.  Trevorrow even connected the series to the upcoming blockbuster movie ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’.

He said that if the production team were granted “further opportunities to tell the story that we have [in season 3] — will keep weaving in to the larger story and really inform some things, even in Dominion that will connect to discoveries made that I’m really excited about.”

Whilst Netflix does not release the official viewership’s for their titles, Camp Cretaceous is currently scoring an impressive 7.4/10 on IMDB and 83% on Rotten Tomatoes – which likely influenced the platform’s decision on renewal.

Camp Cretaceous season 3: Release date

  • Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous season 3 will release on Netflix on May 21st, 2021.

Alongside the news that the hit animated series would return for a third season, it was confirmed that JWCC would return in mid-May.

There were concerns that there could be delays to season 3’s production because of Trevorrow’s role with Jurassic World: Dominion. The movie may be in post-production, but the team may have wanted to take some time off before producing another season of Camp Cretaceous.

Thankfully, the series is only a matter of weeks away from returning, with a brand new trailer being released – see below:

This article will be updated as soon as more information on Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous is revealed by either Netflix or the production team.
