Graeme Souness has raved about Arsenal attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe on Sky Sports Football (7:46pm, April 23, 2021).
The Liverpool legend has outlined the attributes of the Arsenal youngster, and has suggested that he is similar to Manchester United legend Paul Scholes.
The Sky Sports pundit has said that the 20-year-old England Under-21 international is a silky player who also works hard for the team.
Souness said about Smith Rowe on Sky Sports Football (7:46pm, April 23, 2021), as transcribed by The Mirror: “I do like him, he’s got wonderful technique, pops it off first time, sees the picture. I don’t like midfield players – not naming any because there’s plenty around – that receive the ball and have to have two or three touches before they get their head up.
“[Smith Rowe] sees the picture early. I’m not saying this boy is like Paul Scholes but Paul Scholes was one of those players who had a picture in his head, whenever the ball was threatening to come near him he knew what he was going to do with it.
“[Smith Rowe] does it. Pops it off first time, moves, he’s silky, and he works his socks off. I think he’s got a big future.”

Important player for Arsenal
Smith Rowe has established himself as an important player for Arsenal and is playing well for the Gunners at the moment.
The 20-year-old is a creative player who is very young and can only get better. Perhaps the Gunners have the perfect successor to Mesut Ozil.
According to WhoScored, Smith Rowe has provided four assists in 14 Premier League starts and has scored one goal and provided three assists in six Europa League starts for Mikel Arteta’s side this season.
Arsenal are a team in progress and have a number of young players, and Smith Rowe be a massive figure in the team in the coming years and could grow to be a leader in the side in the future.
