According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are considering Rafael Benitez as a potential replacement for Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho lost his job as Spurs boss last Monday, with the axe falling just days before the Carabao Cup final.
Ryan Mason is in charge until the summer, but Daniel Levy is looking for a replacement – and it’s suggested that Benitez could be an option.
The Spaniard is thought to be a candidate for Levy, alongside Nuno Espirito Santo, Brendan Rodgers, Massimiliano Allegri and Julian Nagelsmann.
The London Evening Standard reported earlier this week that Benitez is no longer a target for Levy having previously been on Tottenham’s radar.
These are hugely conflicting reports, but maybe Benitez being available after leaving Dalian Professional is appealing to Levy.

The 61-year-old certainly has experience managing major clubs having taken charge of Liverpool, Inter Milan and Real Madrid over the years.
The main concern for Spurs fans would be that Benitez tends to play quite a conservative brand of football, and that isn’t really the change Tottenham need after parting ways with Mourinho.
A fine manager, Benitez is bound to attract Premier League interest after leaving China, but a move to Tottenham right now just doesn’t quite add up.
