Speaking on Soccer AM’s YouTube channel, Aaron Ramsdale has claimed that Jack O’Connell is the strongest player at Sheffield United when it comes to physicality on the pitch.
The goalkeeper was playing a game where he had to guess which of his teammates had the higher rating in certain attributes on their FIFA 21 cards, and when it came to physicality, he said O’Connell was the top dog at Bramall Lane.
“They’re strong, they are very strong. Jack O’Connell is a man mountain, Sander is a bit different, he’s more powerful and harder to shrug off, but David McGoldrick strength wise. If we’re talking strength in the gym, I’m going Didzy, but if we’re not, I’m going Jack O’Connell,” Ramsdale said.
It’s interesting to hear this, especially about McGoldrick.
McGoldrick does have quite an impressive physique, but he doesn’t seem to use it to his advantage all that often when he’s on the pitch.
O’Connell is an incredibly strong defender, so it’s not much of a surprise to hear this, and the Blades have really missed him this season.
Hopefully O’Connell can return next term stronger than ever.
