Well, Patryk Klimala has left Celtic – and his departure has even got some Rangers fans talking.

Celtic signed the Polish striker for £3.5 million almost 18 months ago and have just sold him for the same amount [Daily Record] as the young hitman completed a move to New York Red Bulls.

But Rangers fans have seen the funny side of the 22-year-old’s farewell tweet.

Klimala wished Celtic and their fans the best of luck in a heartfelt Twitter message this afternoon, but accidentally used a Union Jack flag.

It goes without saying that this is quite a faux pas when you consider the rivalry between Celtic and Rangers.

And here’s how supporters on both sides of the Old Firm divide reacted to Klimala’s accident:

Klimala wasn’t a brilliant signing by Celtic and only managed three goals in 28 appearances, having been brought in by Neil Lennon and Nick Hammond, both of whom have quit their roles at Parkhead in 2021.

The good news for the Bhoys – who are 20 points behind newly-crowned Premiership champions at Ibrox – is that they didn’t suffer a financial loss on the Polish attacker despite his struggles and there’ll surely be reinforcements arriving at Lennoxtown during the summer.
