According to Football London, Tottenham are big admirers of Max Allegri, but there’s one thing holding them back at the moment.

The report states that Tottenham are admirers of the former Juventus boss, but the fact that he doesn’t speak English is reportedly a stumbling block for the London club.

Communication is obviously key when it comes to a job like this, so you can understand why Spurs would want a manager who can speak the native language.

Allegri would certainly be a solid appointment. After all, he’s one of the most decorated managers in Serie A history, and he reached two Champions League finals with Juventus.

Allegri would perhaps be a very popular appointment amongst the fanbase as well as he’s previously had a dig at Jose Mourinho, branding him as ‘pathetic’.

“Every now and then he is pathetic,” Allegri told the Guardian.

“He continuously repeats the same things and it becomes banal. I think he is very talented but his arrogance hides insecurity.”

These comments are bound to go down well with Spurs fans, but as the report says, there is a complication stopping Spurs moving for Allegri.

We’ve seen managers come over to England before without knowing the language, and they’ve been a mixed bag if we’re being honest, but in Allegri’s case, you have to feel that he’d be worth the gamble.
