Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said on Stadium Astro that it does not help the team that the fans are protesting outside the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners will take on Everton at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League this evening.

Hundreds of Arsenal fans are protesting outside the stadium against the club’s owners for trying to take the team to the European Super League.

The Gunners were among 12 clubs who formed the breakaway group, which has collapsed after pressure from fans, the media, football governing bodies, and the players.

Arteta said on Stadium Astro: “Obviously it doesn’t help when you have your own fans trying to stand out on a matchday and saying loud and clear that they are not happy with something, but our job again is to win the football match, and when that happens, everything is better.”

Top-four battle

Of course, both Arteta and the players will know that the fans are not angry with them but with those who are running the club, but it must still be tough for them.

However, the players have to be at the top of their game tonight and win against Everton.

The Gunners still have a slim chance of breaking into the Premier League top four, and for that, they need maximum points tonight.
