Reported Everton target Alessio Romagnoli is starting to seriously consider a move away from the San Siro as contract talks with AC Milan continue to hit the buffers, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.
Could the Rossoneri revolution die a death before it really gets going?
With Gigi Donnarumma, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Hakan Calhanoglu all becoming free agents on 1 July as it stands, it’s hard to see Milan closing the gap to city rivals Inter any time soon if they lose three star players in one transfer window.
Club captain Romagnoli, meanwhile, could also be heading out the door, with Stefano Pioli’s side struggling to reach an agreement over a new contract.
In March, Il Milanista reported Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti was looking to raid his former employers for the 26-year-old Italy international.
Milan, meanwhile, may be willing to cash in if an offer of £17 million drops on their desk (Gazzetta).

That’s £7 million less than Milan paid to bring in Romagnoli from Serie A rivals Roma six years ago.
But £17 million is better than nothing and, unless a breakthrough can be reached, Romangoli may be leaving the San Siro for exactly that – nothing.
With both parties still poles apart in negotiations, TMW reports Romagnoli, who wants £100,000 a week, is now giving serious consideration to a summer exit.
There’s certainly no shortage of suitors, with Barcelona and Juventus joining Everton in the race.
Romagnoli has started only two of the past nine Serie A fixtures, falling out of favour through a combination of injury and poor form.
