According to RMC Sport, Marseille are happy to let Duje Caleta-Car and Boubacar Kamara leave this summer, after both were linked to Liverpool.

The French news outlet claim that Jorge Sampaoli has drawn up a list of players he wants to keep, after replacing Andre Villas-Boas.

Interestingly, Caleta-Car and Kamara are not on that list, and are free to leave Marseille should an ‘interesting offer’ arrive.

It was Calciomercato who said that Liverpool want Kamara, who has been described as the new Thiago Silva.

While that was merely a tentative link, it seems like Caleta-Car was much, much closer to joining the Reds.

As revealed by RMC Sport, the Croatian travelled to the airport in January after Liverpool submitted a £20 million bid on Deadline Day.

However, Marseille pulled the plug on the deal at the last moment.

Now, it seems Sampaoli isn’t as big a fan of him as Villas-Boas was, and he is free to leave for the right price.

Whether that will still interest Liverpool or not remains to be seen.

Jürgen Klopp eventually signed Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies, while Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip should be fit for next season.

Additionally, The Athletic claim that Liverpool are finalising a deal for RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate, so Caleta-Car might’ve missed his chance.
