Reported Aston Villa and Newcastle United target Altay Bayindir may miss out on a summer move to the Premier League after suffering a fractured wrist, as reported by Aktif Haber.

When you make a living keeping the ball out of the back of your net, a broken wrist isn’t something you can run off.

And, after suffering a serious injury in training, the season appears to have come to a premature and sad end for Bayindir.

The highly rated shot-stopper hoped to lead Fenerbahce to the Super Lig title before starting between the sticks for Turkey in their Euro 2020 opener against Italy in June.

Instead, he may be forced to watch all the action unfold from the sidelines. Aktif Haber reports Bayindir is at risk of missing up to three months of football.

What now for Celtic after Ibrox shambles?

“I feel sorry I will not be able to be with my team,” the £12 million-rated Turkey international posted on his official Instagram page.

“I had a successful surgery and I am strong. I will take care of myself and be back on the field as soon as possible. Thank you very much for your support and well wishes.”

Takvim reported Aston Villa, Newcastle and Crystal Palace sent scouts to watch Bayindir in action during Fenerbahce’s 3-1 triumph over Gaziantep last week.

That, however, may be his last appearance this season.
