Rangers striker Jermain Defoe has responded to Nathan Patterson’s post on Instagram following the win against Celtic at Ibrox on Sunday.
Steven Gerrard’s Rangers got the better of Celtic 2-0 at Ibrox in the Scottish Cup on Sunday.
Patterson started the match at right-back like he has been doing in recent weeks, with fit-again James Tavernier on the substitutes’ bench.
The 19-year-old has taken to Instagram to express his delight at the win for Rangers, and his teammate and striker Defoe has responded to it, as shown below.
Defoe’s aforementioned post shows that he rates Patterson highly. The former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United striker has played with some wonderful footballers, and he knows a talent when he sees one.

Patterson has done well when called upon this season, and there have been calls for him to be part of the Scotland squad for the European Championship this summer.
Tavernier is still the first-choice right-back at Rangers, but the former Newcastle United man now seems to have some big competition from Patterson, who is only 19 and will get better in the coming years.
