Even Liverpool’s players don’t know if Georginio Wijnaldum will be at Anfield next season, the Athletic report.

Wijnaldum has just months remaining on his contract at Liverpool now, and he has still not penned a new deal.

Jurgen Klopp has publicly stated that he wants the Dutchman to stay, and has previously called him ‘perfect’ (club’s official website).

However, as every week passes, it seems more and more likely that a departure from Merseyside could be on the cards.

The player, himself, is said to be keeping his plans very secretive – and he has apparently not even informed his Liverpool teammates what he plans to do in the summer.

If Wijnaldum does depart Liverpool that could be a blow to the Reds.

Not only would they be losing a valuable asset for free, they would also be without a key player, who Klopp clearly has great faith in.

The Liverpool midfielder has started regularly in recent years, and can perform a number of roles in the midfield area.
