Dion Dublin told Football Focus on BBC One that Leeds United midfielder, Kalvin Phillips, ‘knows how good he is’.
The former Premier League striker praised Phillips for how he ‘keeps his mouth shut’ and just does his job.
Perhaps Leeds United’s main man, Phillips has risen from the Leeds academy to now establish himself as an England international.
And Dublin likes what he sees from the ‘Yorkshire Pirlo’, both on and off the field of play.
“What I like about him is that he’s unassuming,” said Dublin. “You don’t hear him doing interviews all the time.
“He just does his job. He doesn’t want everyone to tell him he’s brilliant. He knows how good he is, gets on with his job and keeps his mouth shut.
“I think he takes Leeds to the next level as an individual with all his qualities.”
Phillips produced a standout performance at Anfield on the opening day of the Premier League campaign and that very same test awaits him tonight.
It’s a different Liverpool side that faced off against Leeds during that 4-3 encounter given all the injuries they have suffered.
But with Leeds recently beating Manchester City, they will fancy themselves at Elland Road in a few hours time.
