Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the emerging news about the Super League.

According to The Times, Liverpool are among five English clubs who have signed up for a breakaway Super League.

Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea are the other clubs from the Premier League who are among 11 European teams who have signed up to this breakaway league, according to the report.

The Premier League have released a statement today condemning the proposal to form a Super League.

Some Liverpool fans have given their take on the development, and below are some of the best comments on Twitter.

One can understand why some Liverpool fans are against the idea of the team playing in the Super League.

While it would see the biggest and richest clubs play in what would be a stronger and more glamorous version of the Champions League, it would be essentially a small pool of team who would be playing against each other season after season no matter what.

There would not be any fairytale stories, and the domestic leagues would suffer.
