According to Calciomercato, Liverpool are in the hunt for Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembélé, along with Manchester United.
The Italian news outlet claim that Jürgen Klopp’s side want the 23-cap France international, who is available for a lot less than he was bought for.
Back in 2017, Barcelona agreed a deal worth £135.5 million for the exciting attacker, after he enjoyed a stunning season with Borussia Dortmund.
However, he hasn’t lived up to expectations – Dembélé has scored just 29 goals in 111 appearances.
As a result, Barcelona are willing to sell him for just €50 million (£43.3 million) – £92.2 million less than they signed him for.
In our view, that’s crazy. At 23 years of age, the Frenchman has plenty of time to live up to the billing, but it appears Barcelona have run out of patience.

Their loss could be Liverpool’s gain.
Dembélé was once described as ‘better than Neymar’ by Barcelona’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
In an interview with Cadena SER, Bartomeu said: “With that money we went for players like Dembele and (Philippe) Coutinho. Dembele is better than Neymar. He’s at Barca and he is better.”

Amid a difficult time for Liverpool, where Sadio Mané is surprisingly struggling and Mohamed Salah’s future is up in the air, Dembélé would be a fantastic signing.
He still has time to become one of Europe’s best forwards.
For just £43.3 million, the Reds would be silly not to at least submit a bid.
