Rafa Mir has admitted that he plans to discuss his future with Wolverhampton Wanderers at the end of the season, amid reported interest from Atletico Madrid and Sevilla, while speaking to Radio Marca.
From an outside perspective, it seems there is only one answer to Wolves’ dilemma.
Surely, after hitting 15 goals in 31 games on loan at La Liga outfit Huesca, Mir deserves a second chance at Molineux.
It is not just the volume of the goals that marks the Spain U21 star out as a special talent – it’s the manner of them too.
Mir’s match-winning brace away at Levante last week was a joy to behold; a ruthless first-time volley followed up by a sublime lob from outside the box.
The former Valencia starlet also hit a hat-trick against Real Valladolid, terrorised Barcelona and Real Madrid, and scored twice more in Saturday’s 3-1 triumph over Elche.
So reports suggesting that a goal-shy Wolves side could decide to cash in during the summer transfer window certainly seem a little odd (La Razon).
While Mir was unwilling to give too much away, he did admit that talks over his future at Molineux will take place sooner rather than later.

“(Transfer speculation) is a thing that happens, we know how this works. It does not distract me from my goal. When the year ends we will talk to Wolves and see what path we will take,” Mir explained.
“I am very happy (at Huesca). We have to continue on this path together. We are very happy.
“People who know me know that, throughout my life, I have scored goals: In the youth teams of Barcelona, in Valencia, in Las Palmas, in England although less (frequently), and now here in Huesca.”
Mir, who has been linked with Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and Real Betis, has a £9 million option-to-buy clause in his Huesca contract (Diario del Alto Aragon).
