Fluminense wonderkid Kayky is a ‘formidable’ talent capable of reaching the very top under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, former PSG star Adailton told Tuttomercatoweb.
While that ‘left-footed Neymar’ nickname may be a little misleading – Kayky is more of a central midfielder than he is a jinking winger after all – there is no doubting the potential of this latest Samba starlet.
Despite alleged interest from Liverpool and a Shakhtar Donetsk side who handed big breaks to Willian, Fred, Douglas Costa and Fernandinho, all the signs suggest that the Etihad will be Kayky’s destination.
The Guardian reports that Guardiola’s Premier League leaders have agreed a deal that will see the youngster move to Manchester City for a fee in the region of £9 million, plus add-ons.
And Adailton, the former Paris Saint-Germain, Parma and Hellas Verona striker, believes Manchester is the ideal destination for a truly extraordinary talent.
“He has everything needed to do very well. The big clubs now come here (to Brazil) and take the players aged 16-17 because they still have an acceptable price-tag,” said Adailton.
“Real Madrid took, for example, Rodrigo Goes and Vinicius Junior who today seem old but are just 21 years old.
“You need to understand how much a player can grow, because then you find yourself a footballer who can triple his value.
“Kayky is formidable for his age: he has quality, technique and speed.
“In a team with a coach like Guardiola, who is the number one to teach football and to develop a player.”
Kayky will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Lionel Messi, Raheem Sterling, Kevin de Bruyne and co, becoming one of the planet’s finest footballers under the mercurial Catalan coach.
