Glenn Hoddle has revealed that it’s obvious to him that Davinson Sanchez hasn’t fully adapted to life at Tottenham Hotspur just yet, despite joining the club almost four years ago.
Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho left Sanchez out of the squad on Sunday as the North Londoners lost 3-1 to Manchester United.
That came on the back of a horrific defensive display from the Colombia international in the 2-2 draw with Newcastle United a week earlier.
Sanchez, a £42 million signing from Ajax in 2017, had rebuilt his reputation under Mourinho for much of the calendar year after being almost frozen out of Premier League duty during the first half of the campaign.
But being dropped from the squad last weekend was another backwards step for the 24-year-old defender, and Tottenham legend Hoddle has told Optus Sport it’s clear to him that the South American hasn’t fully transitioned to life in the Premier League yet.
He said: “Sanchez hasn’t adapted yet, they’ve got a problem at the back they need to put right.”
