Cheltenham Town midfielder Felix Miles is a summer transfer target for Wayne Rooney’s Championship outfit Derby County, as reported by Gloucester Live.
While it didn’t quite work out for Luke Thomas at Pride Park – the former Robins starlet made just two league appearances during his forgettable stint in Derby white – that has not stopped the Rams from re-visiting the Jonny Rocks Stadium in search of more exciting young talent.
And Miles, a composed and technically gifted central midfielder, appears to be in line for a move that would see him follow in Thomas’ footsteps.
Gloucester Live broke the news, adding that Miles will feature against Derby on Wednesday in a behind-closed-doors friendly clash.
You’d imagine that the East Midland giants will have a close eye on the teenager throughout that encounter.

Miles, who enjoyed a brief spell training with Portuguese giants Benfica in 2017, was handed his senior debut by Cheltenham manager Michael Duff in August.
And a move to Derby would see him link up with Rooney, the legendary former Manchester United and England captain who, during his four month spell in charge at the club, has shown a particular penchant for youth development.
