Arsenal would apparently be willing to take a major loss on Alexandre Lacazette and sell him this summer, the Telegraph report.

Arsenal are said to be looking to buy Odsonne Edouard from Celtic for £15 million, and they are believed to value Lacazette at around the same price.

Lacazette actually currently leads Arsenal’s goalscoring charts, but he is 29 now, and will retain little value if the Gunners do keep hold of him.

Edouard could be a younger, and potentially more valuable alternative in the future, and it seems that Arsenal are now gearing up to sell the Frenchman.

If they do offload him for £15 million it will see them take a major hit financially though.

Arsenal signed Lacazette for a club record fee of £46.5 million from Lyon in 2017 (BBC Sport), when Arsene Wenger was still in charge.

Just four years later, Arsenal are looking at making a £31 million loss on the striker, which starts to look like fairly poor business.

While Lacazette has been a valuable option up-front for the Gunners during his time at the club, he hasn’t quite managed to become an elite level goalscorer.

Lacazette actually is in fine form at the moment, and has 13 Premier League goals to his name this term.

But it seems that, despite the up-turn in his performances, Arsenal are still planning to sell him in the summer.
