Bayern Munich have turned down the chance to move for Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, according to Abendzeitung.
Wijnaldum was offered to Bayern given that his contract with Liverpool expires this summer, and it doesn’t look like he’ll be staying.
It’s claimed that Bayern appreciate Wijnaldum and they have been impressed with him having faced him in the Champions League in the past.
However, his wage demands are beyond Bayern right now, and they have subsequently rejected the offer to sign him.
Wijnaldum’s agents are likely working hard to get the midfielder a big move this summer, and Bayern would have represented that.
However, a move to Bavaria won’t be happening as things stand, though they could instead sign a different midfielder.

Bayern instead want to sign Borussia Monchengladbach ace Florian Neuhaus, believing that he can help Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka in the middle of the park.
That’s interesting as Kicker claimed in February that Liverpool want to sign Neuhaus thanks to a €40million (£35million) release clause, seemingly viewing him as a potential replacement for – you guessed it – Wijnaldum.
There’s now chance that Liverpool not only lose Wijnaldum, but also miss out on Neuhaus, with Bayern focusing on him over the Dutchman.
