Gabriel Martinelli has confirmed to Arsenal’s official website that he is not injured and will be fit to play on Thursday.

Martinelli caused a scare when he appeared to pick up a knock in a tackle with Ethan Ampadu, during Arsenal’s game against Sheffield United last night.

However, the Brazilian forward carried on playing during the contest.

And he confirmed after the game that he was feeling no ill affects from the tackle.

“No, I am alright to play on Thursday,” he said, when asked if he was injured.

That looks like a major boost to both Arsenal and Martinelli, ahead of the crucial Europa League tie.

Martinelli has been waiting for his Arsenal chance for some time now, and he certainly took it last night.

The teenager found the back of the net from close range to help the Gunners to a 3-0 victory.

Arsenal go into their game against Slavia after drawing the fist leg 1-1, but Martinelli’s inclusion could help to inject some life into their attack.
